Making a kilometer blurry
I just realized I've become the tech manager I that I dislike. I coach my daughter's lego robotics team and they have been meeting 1/wk for an hour to build the robot. It's going too slowly, so I added a two-hour session every weekend.
Wonderful. Six 10-year-old girls are on their first software development death march. "Yeah, I'm gonna need everyone to work 3x as many hours, and come in on the weekend until this robot is done."

For my fellow veterans, the St. Crispian's Day Speech from Henry V. The speech itself begins at 3:30; the part before gives some context.

I'm back in the office after 10 days of travel. It was nice sleeping in my own bed last night. But I may be sleeping in the guest room the next couple of nights - we are getting our house painted. I'm not even sure we will be able to access the kitchen - yay, more eating out, uggh.
I can't wait until everything is back in order and done.

Thoughts from Saturday:
* If you haven't been training to support an endurance race, don't do it.
* Quitting might last forever, but at some point, you can make peace with it.
* I like sucking at a road race better than one of these. You can't get dropped in an endurance race.
* Chamois Butt'r makes a reasonably good lip balm.
* The first time I did this race, it went well. Sequels are never as good as the original (The Godfather, Part 2 excepted)
* 29" wheels are way, way better than 26" ones. Pretty remarkable difference.
* Conti Mountain King 2.4 (21 psi) front and Maxxis Crossmark 2.1 rear (24 psi) is a pretty good combo. Saved my bacon many, many times.
* Only serious mechanical issue was RH handlebar grip came loose. I didn't have it completely on the bar when I tightened the end down. Going down a crazy descent and having it pop off the bar is not cool. Stayed upright by dumb luck.
* I did notice the next morning that my rear wheel had been knocked marginally askew and the rear brake was dragging a bit. I could have done without that.
* I knew from the first real climb that it was not going to be a great day. Ended up sucking more than I would have guessed.
* My back tightened up in the first hour. I strained it pretty bad in August and it took about 6 weeks to get back into shape. The lost training time here really hurt. I didn't injure it further here, but it's sore as hell. Not real damage, just sore from use. I think I may to do adjust my fit on the MTB to be a little more upright.
* Even when it sucks, mountain biking can be fun at times.

A request for fellow forumites. If anyone know of someone trying to sell a size small "super" time trial bike such as the Scott Plasma Premium, BMC TM01, could you put me in contact with the said person?
Thanks in advance

Process the change orders?
Oversee the regression and load tests?
Manage the repository?
Cool. Just don't step over the line to micromanagement.

Garbear got me thinking.
Without me going to the 41 to ask those geniuses is there any way to know what the circumference of my front wheel is?

I rolled it out. The 2096 to the chart ended up being 2012 by my measurements. Comparing the difference in two different SRM PC7s (mine and yours) simultaneously revealed that the difference wasn't worth worrying about.

Making a kilometer blurry
Unfortunately, this development team behaves like a bunch of pre-teen girls all of the time. Like, we have to make sure there are no dolls in the room, or they might get distracted. I know I'm supposed to trust and empower these people, but this new generation is just beyond help.
