It turns out that frozen fish is often "fresher" then fresh fish based on the levels of certain amines. Frozen fish is frozen on-board the ship, fresh fish waits until the boat returns to shore and by then it's not so fresh.

Iirc cold water fish are somewhat immune to this effect. I don't fully recall the mechanism but I think it involves intracellular "antifreeze" or something like that.

Interesting part starts on page #9 . It explains why we haven't heard which supplement triggered the result.
Loose white powder? Dang, that guy's a soup sandwich.

Spoiler alert, for whatever that matters.

This is how I read it - basically he tried to get off by putting some powder in a bottle of pills and claimed that the powder came from a broken supplement pill (but no pill casings or pieces of them were in the bottle). There was over 4 grams of powder and a normal pill contains about 1 gram of powder. There should have been pieces of a few capsules but there weren't, at least not in the bottle. The powder was a different color from the main pills he had, except 5 pills that tested positive for some stuff (but that weren't detected in his system).

It looks and sounds pretty bad, at least from my point of view.

Only if you mix them with some Nandy.

Honestly, getting popped at an event is almost funny. It's an intelligence test. If you've read any of the books (like Tyler's), you know all the 'work' is done beforehand. Getting busted with a cheap oral is just carelessness and probably a subconscious call for help.

Thanks. I had not spent any time playing with it because the only time I would use it was when sitting in traffic and wanting to know if there was a wreck or something ahead - I try to avoid using my phone too much when driving.

He said that it was the first time he was ever tested in about 35 years of competition. It might be that he thought he wouldn't ever be tested, so he didn't worry about timing.

Do any of you care enough about your continued ability to race sanctioned, amateur races to pay lawyer fees, lab fees, and expert witness fees to contest a doping sanction?

Seems like a lot of investment for little return, even if he would have won.

We all know how I know...
You can have injectable (nandrolone for example), powder (anavar) and liquid (clenbuterol). These would be some of the more popular steroids (not including growth hormone).
Injectable imho are the safest and purest though they use an oil base in most cases for ease of injection.
Pills and powders (capsules) are probably the most common as people don't like to stick themselves. The are also harder on liver and stomach.
My take on all this is that he's a doper, got careless, got caught. Own up, move on and don't throw blame around

Maybe he suspected that USAC would grow a set and strip him of his 8 jerseys. That's what needs to happen, for him, and anyone with stripes who gets popped.
