This is kind of what I'm doing. My current team is a good group of guys, but as I move up I'll be by myself, and they don't bring much in the form of sponsorship or travel/race support so I will kind of hi a dead end.

If i race a lot, it would probably be better for me to join an all womens team but I am not sure that would be a good fit for me lol.

Trademark infringement is like porn, I know it when I see it, and this isn't it. Someone at the PTO needs a refresher in common sense. Although, the whole PTO is so screwed up, it's not really the clerk's fault, it's the ridiculous laws. Don't even get me started on software patents.

I'm going to be down in Orlando over Christmas. I'll be taking my bike but was wondering if its a good idea to bring the trainer or attempt some of the ride routes I've come across on some of the local websites.
Anyone in the area have an opinion on these. Paging YMCA, Kensuf, Mollusk...

Kit order time. Find out we're switching sponsors. So that basically brand new jersey I ordered a couple months ago and have barely worn is outdated. And it's even worse, because we're changing to a competitor of the original company. Someone mentioned iron-ons, I think this should be standard with a sponsor change.

I'm probably not saying this with enough drama, but I switched teams, after 5 years. Love the old team, but never get to see most of them or the team shop. New team also has a lot of selfless talent, but 5 teammates within a mile of me, and the rest of the team w/in 20 miles.
So... it's the new masters squad of Austinbikes, and I've been in a lot of breaks with some of these guys over the years.

awww **** those guys were too strong already... eh well at least only 2 of them ever come up to DFW and I only have to go to Austin a couple times next year

I hate it when that happens.

Looks like Sinyard ended up handling the matter pretty well; his major mistake was reacting slowly but hey he's probably a busy guy who doesn't eff off on the internet all day like his customers.

I just joined a club I don't know any of the guys outside a few 'sups' during rides. They seem to be an okay group but I'm getting a tad nervous because race season starts in 4 weeks and there really isn't any chatter about racing at all. Hope I didn't make the wrong decision.
The last time I joined a club it ended up badly; being proactive, I joined a committee for a new website. They had a $5,000 budget but I told them I could do it for free. I spent 3 weeks on the site, the president loved it, but the treasurer already slotted that money to his sister. He lobbied for it and the president broke the news to me. I was done with the club after that, the whole way it went down was unethical.

Don't rush into joining a team. Better to join late to one that works for you, than join early and 3 months later say "uh oh ... my bad". It won't kill you to ride unattached for a bit.

I am still having issues with my Quarq. (I know, SRM is better. We don't need to resume that discussion.)
I sent it off to be serviced two months ago. It came back, and worked for a couple of days. But now it frequently drops power. I'll be riding along with power on the screen, coast for a minute - or hop off the trainer to change the show on Netflix - and then no power.
Taking off the battery and reseting it seems to help most of the time, but I still have to re-pair it with my Garmin.
At the same time, I've had a couple issues with my Garmin, including a period when it would not pick up anything. I did a hard reset of that, and since then, it has worked fine.
So, I'm not sure if it is my Garmin or my Quarq that is the problem. I think tonight, I'm going to borrow my wife's Garmin to see if that works ok with my Quarq.
If not, I guess I'll send my Quarq back. Again.

App is in the store now!
Try it out, lemme know what you think. (if you have an iOS device)
Basically it shows you the USAC calendar for your state, pre-reg counts, weather for race day/city. And you can set reminders for when to leave for the race, based on how long it takes to get there.
Nothing ground-breaking but it was a fun first iPhone app to write.
