No kidding. I remember being happy with 1100 lbs, and that was the end -- max with only one rep. 40% more... gah.

I have never done one rep max workouts. It's a good thing I am one step above caveman as I have the structure to support it (though I am a little worn out today from the other night's workout).

Several years ago, my brother and I skipped out after Christmas dinner to catch a movie.

Well, I was farting up a storm through most of the film - they were more loud than smelly, but it wasn't a big deal because the movie was pretty loud. I feel a big one coming on and I just go ahead a let it out - just as the movie suddenly goes silent. There was a complete break in the action and dialogue.

The only sound in the theater was me farting.

My brother and I still laugh at that story.

In high school, while taking a test, I turned to the guy next to me and said "blame this on Tom". I let loose a huge fart, and both of us turned around and pointed and yelled and blamed it all on the kid Tom sitting behind me. Needless to say he was a little pissed and a little embarrassed.

Agreed. I tracked improvements through normal sets and how my weights went up for those. This one time though, I wanted to see what I could push max. It was so much strain and senseless physiological stress that I never tried it again. I did 6 reps at ~1000 lbs. though. I've never done fewer than 5 in a set of squats.

Ribble has some in 23 for $29 plus shipping. They're out of black, though.

I am just glad the FDA has left our lab for the week, time to rest easy tomorrow and hopefully not have to scramble together anything.

SNOW DAY!!!

Went to bed and there was nothing. Radar showed the brunt of the storm was just north and west of us. Woke up at 4am to take a leak and the snow was falling with maybe 2cm on the ground. It's now 7:30am and there has to be 10cm down. This sucker is big and moving slow! They say we're going to get the most snow we have seen in almost 5years. At this rate I see 30-40cm.

Working from home is good, but I have a Tragically Hip concert to go to tonight with my oldest boy. It involves a 45min (normal) drive north of here...It'll be interesting...

Blowing off work is ok, a concert...not so much!

I thought all you Canadians and Northerners knew how to drive in the snow. At least that's what all the transplanted Canadians and Northerners now living in the south claim any time it snows or ices down here.

(They tend to forget that there are like 50 snow plows across the entire Southeast US.)

Oh I can drive in the snow...Now some of the others I'm not to certain about...

Plus, with the laptop and all the other technology there really is no reason for me to go into the office on a day like this. Now driving to the concert tonight, that's a different story
