to be unnecessarily semantic, you should train your limiters, not your weaknesses. even if your sprint is weak if you're not able to be handle the intensity of the last lap of a crit so that you're top 10-15 wheel going into the sprint then training your sprint isn't going to do jack ****, even if it is a "weakness."
i might have my periods messed up tho.

rode around today after work.
i'd comment on how nice it was outside, but it's always like that, so no need.
also, my water bottles tasted like soap!

FTP test:
Repeatability. Same course, same bike, hopefully close to the same conditions. I like the 20 minute paradigm because it's a bit more reflective of the bins you should be training in unless you're doing a lot of 40k TT's or an ironman or something. Other than the 40k, no races are won on 60m power.
It's not how much, it's when.

Group ride yesterday which was really fast. I was trying to hang on the climb but blew up 75% of the way to the top when I was pacing a friend. The rest of the ride was at my threshhold with lots of rollers well into anaerobic. Took a few hard pulls(which I normally don't do on these rides).
The whole ride just straight hurt. I got home and I felt really tired. Not like the typical where my body hurts just tired and sleepy. Went to bed early last night.
Feel better today but still bleh. At least its recovery ride tonight...

felt pretty strong on the group ride today. Only got gapped a little on the steepest climb early in the ride when people are fresh. Other than that I was good. It was a little slower than usual, and quite surgy, but I felt fine most of the time.

I sure hope so. Watts are there, I'm back at race weight. Another 6 days of racing coming up to finish off the season, so hopefully I can finish off strong.

I'm actually showing some signs of fitness. To bad it's almost the end of the season (well at least in ohioland). Hit some nice numbers two days ago, and had three really good days in a row, plus my 105 mile ride around the block on sunday.

I have great fitness and terrible mental fatigue.
Yesterday I had to talk myself into going up the optional circuit with the group ride. Once I did, I pr'd by 11 seconds over 4 minutes.
fatigue is definitely not just a physical thing

Hey, that is pretty nice, especially how it picks a route based on what cyclists actually do. I clicked directly from my house to the top of a climb 25 miles away, and it routed me exactly the way I would choose to go, as opposed to the obvious and crappy route.

Looks like fun, if a bit climby for my tastes.

Airport Ride last night. Windy. 155 tss. Fitness isn't where it was before vacation, but it's inching back up.
I'm racing on Saturday at Red Kite in support of a teammate who's in contention for the series win, so that will be fun. Then Winters RR the week after, again mostly to support a couple of teammates. After that, I think I'm going to shut down the road season unless. Kinda annoyed that they scheduled the crit district championships on Labor Day weekend. At this point, I'm much more inclined to go up to the lake and ride around on dirt with my son than deal with the argy bargy.
