2 hours trainer. Bloated legs. Familiar feeling after a day off after some hard days. The Missus gave me a bunch of "5 hour ride" coupons for Christmas. I've used one so far.

My CTL is 30. My TSB is around -50. I've got a way to go.

3 hours of z2 yesterday. There used to be a day when 3 hours of 200w left me feeling good, now 3 hours of 190w leaves me tired. I've got some work to do.

Today I'll do couch intervals.

Don't worry mines only at like 80 right now (whoops hit the wrong key orriginally, def not 90, 3 days off = huge ctl drop), its hard to get that high without riding alot. I was sitting at like 110-120 in the middle of the season only becuase i was riding over 17 hours every week.

It's a joke from a few years ago when i said some stupid stuff re: training, one of which being i "have to get to ctl of 100 before Build 1" or something similar.

I'm in pretty good fitness, weight is the concern right now.

My CTL was at my peak from last year (~85) as of late last week. But between being sick and taking 3 days off over the weekend/monday, and easy spin's this week it will have dropped a bunch I'm sure. Should be ready to have a killer build block the next few weeks though. I can't imagine a CTL load over 100, I'm pretty fried already.

On a side note though, was able to get out for about a 30min spin last night. Felt good to open the legs up after a few days off.

'm nearly at race weight already, so im going to push for 145-150 for this year versus 150-155. Then my e-wang will be monstrous.

Started a new training strategy last night. From yesterday to the first race of the 2013 Road Season on February 23rd, I will ride 1,000miles. All rides will be on the road or on the rollers. I just can't get motivated to ride the trainer, do intervals on my own and download power numbers. Too much going on with life...work and family. No powertap or heart-rate monitor. We will see how it goes.

So it begins!

I was able to get all of 7miles on the rollers last night. Wasted about 2 hours looking for the old cycling computer.

Left early, took one of my detours to work, 1:45 total with a good solid 60' at tempo in the middle. Solid.

Mon: 2:25, mostly Z2, felt like butt.
Tues: 2:11, mostly Z2, felt great. 600 feet less climbing, only .2 mph faster* despite feeling good. No idea how these things work.

Today is off, apparently, thanks to work. Tomorrow, probably two workouts. Big weekend, too. Trying to get in a last big base block to make up for missed time over the holidays before starting build.

*Just as a matter of interest. I'm not tracking progress by speed at all.

Another 45' on the trainer. Watching BSG. Good show, and I'm realizing that I missed much of Season 1. This morning was the classic war-show episode where the star pilot is shot down in unfriendly territory and flies back in an enemy craft. BSG did a nice job of it.

At about 2 hours on the trainer the Missus came home with Junior who had had a meltdown. He was crying so loudly I thought it was from the movie I was watching (Looper - I didn't know they came home and I had the volume cranked and there was a kid screaming in the movie). I went upstairs to try and lend a hand. It was odd - it was like he had a nightmare, he was just crying and crying, really loud, really panicky, he's never cried like that ever. Well maybe when he was born but that was different. We checked him for injuries it was that bad. Then suddenly, after about 30 minutes of this, he stopped, he smiled, and he was okay. It was really weird. I did a few more minutes on the trainer (the movie was just about over) and stopped - Junior's crying kind of put a damper on things. He's been asleep for a bit now.

The Missus is convinced he missed me as he seemed to panic when she arrived at a place other than home (from picking him at daycare). I have no idea but I'll have him all day tomorrow so I get to see if he does it again.

Windy as hell today. 30mph winds with 45mph gusts. I just got on the rollers. I know, I'm a wimp. Nothing new here.

You should log what he's been eating in case it happens again (well, what your wife's been eating...)
