Did ~2 hours of climbing of climbing at SST pace, plus riding to and from the mountain on Saturday for 252 TSS points after a week of solo effort drills with the team, bringing my TSB to a new all-time low. Tailwind was awesome, was able to cruise at 31 mph. Then a music festival on Sunday so standing all day, not great for recovery. On the bright side, set a new 20 min power of 245w this week with a 17.5 min effort (so could have squeezed a few more watts in there, but I had finished all 5 laps we were assigned at team practice). Also a new 10 min power of 271w.
Still slow at climbing. Thinking about losing 5-10 lbs, as it's probably easier than gaining 20 watts. Is it hard to lose weight and gain watts at the same time? Should I just wait until winter? 155 lbs & 5'10", thinking I'd be better off at 145

5 hours with my dad..ughhhhh. I felt great the whole time but my dad is definitely not ready for anything or 60km. We did 112.. Got in two repeats of a climb (Sydenham) and set my two best times on it

<150 W pace around the hood for about 1.25 hrs to recover. I ate wayy too much for lunch/breakfast today kinda pissed at myself. Back up to 171lbs from 168 ugh. If all goes well, I get my new bike tomorrow which will be good cause I plan to do some climbing. If not, then climbing on the current rig

I never post in this thread (I rarely post anyway) but I had to share. I finished a 6x5x1 workout (on rollers) for the first time in a while this evening. Finally cast those self-defeating demons out of my head!

Trained. Took it (relatively) easy given the races this past weekend.
Did 5x5' at a (relatively) comfortable pace up Altamont climb, all about 300w avg. And for once they started below target, then built up to a higher average, as opposed to starting high and then going lower.
Legs feel like they should.

FTP test yesterday turned into a 3 hour ride with the ride to the course, test, and ride home. I was toast. 180 TSS
New FTP of 4.4 w/kg. Was hopping for more and I think I went too hard early and kinda blew my wad - That's my typical!!
Considering motivation was at an all time low last week I'm happy and ready to get back going again.

Back at it with the early morning (5:15AM departure) rides. 40mi, 2700'. Tempo for me, conversational for my riding buddies. Oh well, at least it was a beautiful morning. I see a lot of z2 in my future. OTS doesn't hurt as bad but deep breathing + 4 week downtime = slow. I mean, I was slow before my crash, but I'm like... fred slow now.

The both of you can bite me with your complaints about being slow. Especially jsut with his complaining about being slow because he's just outside the top 5 instead of on the podium. I hit maybe 3.8 this spring, at most. Probably lower, though.
