I think I was -10 this morning. Should be around -16 or so tomorrow. Recovery and a day off and I'll be positive again in no time.

That's crazy work. I'm going to hit ~650 off of 16.5hrs this week, and that's with a decent amount of focused trainer work.

Fudgy, your ctl is like 110ish right? How do you maintain that? The stuff I've read (which isn't necessarily correct) indicates that it's tough to deal with much over 90 unless you've got nothing else going on in your life. I'm inching toward 80 (up from 40 at the beginning of the fall) and while it isn't killing me, the amount of work and time it must take to get above 100 in the first place is pretty impressive, and then to steadily maintain it...

I'm up around 90 now. my tsb tends to run positive most of the race season, until I go on vacation. I dug a massive hole while I was in Maine. I think I hit -50 one day. But a few days off and some easy days and I was back in the game. Historically I'll bounce back and forth between -15 or so to slightly positive until the race season gets going in earnest. I can't handle much more than 90 ctl though.

Plus I'm taking six days off the bike over Christmas when we got to Disney.

Interesting, my tsb typically has a 30-35 point swing weekly ( -10ish to -45ish ) in part due to crash blocks on the weekends and in part due to steady increases in ctl, but I guess that spread will get less dramatic as I hit the ctl ceiling we're aiming for. Differences in coaching philosophies are crazy interesting, and is a big part of why I like picking through this thread.

1:45 last night on the trainer. 96tss. Felt pretty good. Power still isnt where I would like it to be..but all I can do is keep at it.

Like fudgy said, I like riding my bike. That's what I do in the weekends. Is it counterproductive? If I race the next day sure, otherwise its debatable.

For me, it would depend on my training goals in the near future.
If I feel like ****, I'd rather bag it and ride home than compromise another training session by racking up meaningless TSS.

In terms of recovery, it's not debatable; it is counterproductive. But if you want to ride your bike for three hours because it's fun, go for it. You're not racing the next day, so fun can take priority over recovery.

3.5 hours today with Fudgy, 18 hours for the week. 850 TSS.
Legs tired. One more week of Base scheduled then rest, can't wait.
At 93 CTL as of today; started Base in October at 22. Easy to make big gains when you start so low!
