awww thanks for the compliment about my weight

yes two garmin mounts. I normally ride indoors with a towel over my handlebars, so i cant use the barfly without a lot of positioning of the towel, so i just use a regular garmin mount.

I also like my shifters. they are nice. except my right hood is torn....

Lol I'm 162 on a good day and I couldn't care less. As the season approaches (March 29th) I'll eat a little healthier and hopefully stay at 160-162 but the longest climbs in my races for the first few months are no more than 30m in length. Ontario is flat.

That's a good idea! I just ride beside a couch and throw my towel there. I was thinking of putting one on for my ipod though..

Better than my shifters..that don't even work. Is that bike new? Oh btw you hit 3,000 posts

don;t fret too much about weight. i dont normally care at all (weight jsut moves up and down based off of training). i think i raced the firs month last year at 170 lbs. it didnt matter all the climbs were 2 mins max and my anaerobic side made up for my extra weight.

Lol never have never will until I win nationals and sign a contract... It doesn't matter unless there's big climbs and your winning by seconds/miliseconds. It's not going to decide a crit though lol.

My gears have been ****ed ever since the day I got my bike. I sometimes have to click like 3-4 times and then it'll jump a couple rings. I'm gonna be mad the day I miss the jump to the winning break because of the hesitation from that. My chain fell off today while on a hill..I have to remember to fix my derailleur..or I could just get a racing bike with actaul good stuff (I found out a few weeks ago that my bike is a touring bike! hahaha, I laugh at the people who finished behind me in my first race with their $$ bikes and shaved legs )

Oh yes it does. The disadvantage is greater the longer the climb, but less weight on shorter climbs = energy saved. Even in a race you lose by minutes, it might be decided by a matter of seconds at the top of climb when you miss the wheel because you couldn't quite go fast enough.

That said. Perspective! I would not advise junior riders to worry about weight! Train and race, and your weight will more or less take care of itself.

Remember yesterday when I never really got to that last match? Well, I had a book full of them today. I didn't have much time. The family is going to play in the snow today, so had to go early. I did a 1125211 pyramid. The first 112 was hard, but at least I was hitting my numbers. I started hurting pretty bad on the 5 and missed that number. I missed the 2 bogie as well. I was pretty close on the final 1 minute intervals, but damn...

Honestly, if it weren't for the peer pressure of this thread (and the failure one), I probably would have pulled the plug. Sometimes that pressure is a good thing. I did complete the workout and feel reasonably good about it. I wish I could have it all the targets, but after yesterday, I don't feel too bad about it.

20.2 miles, 1 hour and 660 Kj completely under-represents today's work.

Now the sun is up and it's time to go sledding with the kids. It's a damn fine day.

After my two hardest crits yesterday and a late night watching and working the Old Peublo Gran Prix (awesome btw: United Health Care kicked arse) I was struggling today but got in 3.5 hours and rode the TT course for next weeks stage race. I wanted to hit it hard on the course but just the climb out there left me hurting. I actually feel better now though?

Hills. Up and down and up again. Pretty pleased that my best 5 minutes came on the last climb of the day.

Decided to stay home from an omnium in OR this weekend so as to keep life on a slightly more even keel. Coach said that more volume over this weekend and this next week was better than racing intensity this weekend and no riding in the coming week.

so,
Thurs: +100TSS
Fri: +200TSS
Sat: +200TSS
Sun: text from coach, "oh, I see you've been riding your bike, but I'm sure you have more in there... track bike time on rollers please".

my legs, "unprintable"

Yesterday, pre-ride of Hell of the South race course with the team and a few others. Hard course, and a surprisingly hard ride. My legs were still pretty toasted from Thursday, so I was wrecked at the end. Today, I took the MTB (a recent acquisition) out for 1 1/4 hours. It's been a while since I rode mountain, and boy do I suck. Still tired, too. Still, that was fun, and a good workout. Off tomorrow, probably one more hard workout Tuesday, team training camp starts Friday! Super excited for that.

2:30 today outside again, I think I am going to appreciate the outdoors more this season. Did 5x5 intervals, was fine for the first four, but due to more hills on the fourth one and going up them in the bing ring (big mistake - wayy to hard to push for my legs), that zapped my legs and I dropped by a wopping 4 km/h on the 5th interval which was also on a terrible stretch of road, ugh.

I got my highest total distance/time this week though (10 hours - 259 km)! 12 hours of endurance monday through saturday this week, should be fun.

One might argue you should taper for a week. Or two.

Saturday, House of Pain (M) ride again, huge group >100, got pretty frisky. Went deep with a group of riders from Make-a-wish to bridge after the pack was split on some rollers and by a motorcycle crash....no one hurt thankfully.

This morning 8x2@135%...well that was the plan. Overshot the first, then got closer to 130 for the next 6 before tailing off into "abort" territory of 119 at the end. Legs feel worked.
