this is startlingly accurate, except that my tt position is not good. I'm on about my shoulders now.

I got one of them November of last year and the other January of this year. Best description I can give is that ZO numbers are pretty much spot on before, during and after the rides (I don't use auto zero, I always unclip both feet and do a headset initiated zero.)

While I realize that drifting zero offset numbers are disconcerting on the older units I would argue that it is hard to compare vs. other powermeters like a SRM or Powertap. A 10 unit drift on one meter may be 50 units on another or vice versa. I have had the opportunity to verify a few of the older Quarqs against my Tacx Neo and all of them tracked pretty true despite the fact that their ZO numbers fluctuated. I just believe that older Quarqs needed more fastidious zeroing to get good data.

I got a pair of Shimano RC7 shoes which fit great and I like them in all ways except the stupid tongue of the shoe migrates toward the inside to the point where after a half hour it's no longer covering the top of my foot and I can feel the bottom of the tongue bunched up against my toes because of the angle of the tongue and I have to stop and adjust it and it could not be more annoying. So today I'm going to take the shoes to a shoe repair place and see if they can sew the tongue to one side of the shoe or find some other way to keep it in one place.

I recall there was some computer that wind speed and motion detector to determine power. I can't remember what it was called.

Good product. It obviously uses aero drag, I'll look more to see if it displays it.

I'm thinking it is a good feedback tool to hold power and make aero drag go up (by position). Some would call that speed, but the morning rides often have a little breeze that is hard to cancel out.

With the right software and sensors that compare power, speed, wind speed to ground and wind speed riding I would not want to be in the wind tunnel business. That Argon 18 is cool.

There's a thread on slowtwitch with some discussion, one of the guys involved in the development answered some questions. Pricepoint is supposedly going to be similar to mid-priced power meter, which I guess would mean at or just under $1K.

Just wanted to say this is the best $15 I ever spent. The shoe guy happened to be an ex-bike racer, super nice and professional. He stitched one side of the tongue to the shoe and now they are perfect. Giving him 5 stars on google reviews.

I actually take my shimanos to a cobbler to add heavier velcro to the closures.

I took an old pair of road shoes to a shoe repair place recently to have eyelets installed so I could put in laces and use them on the track. I keep snapping the metal pieces the Velcro straps roll through on my other shoes.

Mine tend to slide down a little, not over. I use adhesive backed velcro dots, about 1/2" diameter, from a crafts store. One side on the top of the tongue and the other side to the back of the top strap. When you pull the strap over it sticks to the tongue. Works really well.

every cobbler I've ever asked to do anything to cycling shoes has told me no and looked at me weird. Like they only re-soled fancy shoes...
