What grit & determination!
Adri van der Poel (NL), a former cyclocrosser and roadie, was also known for such 'pre-race warm-ups'. But I doubt he ever did anything that crazy as 'El Cocho'...

Here's a question for those who have a keen eye for details. As you all know, my country has only
two Tour de France winners: Joop Zoetemelk and Jan Janssen. The latter took it in the final ITT. What I want to hear from you is: which material was used for the construction of the winning tyres?

Since the Tour of Flanders is this weekend:
Belgians have dominated this event throughout the years winning 56 of the 86 editions. 3 belgians have won it 3 times (including Museeuw.) But only one rider has won it 3 times in succession. What was his name and nationality?

Tom Simpson won in 1961. Born 30 November 1937, Haswell, County Durham, England. But a long-time resident of Harworth, Nottinghamshire; just outside Doncaster, Yorkshire - the place he "adopted" as his home.
Tragically, he died on Mt. Ventoux during the Tour de France of 1967.
