The listing is removed, so more than likely it was a pretty bad idea...

My stupid shoulder has shooting pains because I slept on it two nights ago. Fell off my bike 7 months ago and am still in pain. Thinking twice, and thrice, about risk/reward of racing this summer because of the nagging injury.

At least your seat didn't drop a millimeter. There's that.

does anyone get nostalgic about past seasons? i blame cdr for telling me I was "flying" two years ago. granted, I got limited results and the things that make me happy about that season are pretty insignificant in the grand scheme of things, but looking back i was going pretty decent. did some flat p123 rr in jersey and was on the pointy end going into moves and stuff, there's some awesome picture of me from the ccns kermis surrounded by some of the better NE crit riders, hell, I almost even finished tokeneke with the front group in the 3s.

I'm the opposite. Last year for instance, won some races, upgraded, and had some good/bad rides. I look back as a season that was horrible because of the failure and not a season that was great because of the wins. Maybe we all look for what will drive us as I know personally that failure motivates me much more than success. Carrot/stick type situation.

^I definitely think i'm more motivated by success. i guess it's just odd looking back as last year/this year have been the first seasons I wasn't improving, which takes some getting used to (still working on making this year an improvement year though!)

Outside a podium in a small race, my first season was pretty forgetful. Not that I look down on it, racing is hard. Despite the constant wins we get on this forum its a hard thing to do that most don't get to experience.

I think back more on my failures, specifically early this year. In the fall I was flying, with 20 minute and 5 second power at all time highs while dominating climbs and sprints in group rides. I couldn't wait for the season and was expecting wins, but somewhere gloriously it fell apart (partially due to injury, partially to bad luck). Despite having very poor power numbers in races, I still did well, which is more a credit to my racing acumen than ability. I should give some of that credit to the veterans of the 33....but....

That drives me more, being a failure at this, thinking others are laughing at me and I'm some big joke in this sport. Deep inside, I know people don't think that, but it helps to motivate me. Mommy Daddy issues I know right? Kind of like the team that wins the championship, and touts 'no one believed in us' even though the Vegas odds had them over every team.

For the basic principles it's the PMBOK but you will fall asleep reading it. If you are studying for your PMP exam I recommend Rita Mulcahy Exam Prep. It's more practically oriented than the PMBOK.

The exam is a *****.

Plan was to warmup and do a particular interval set indoors and then head out to finish with sprints (not a training thread). First part went pretty damn good. As I was putting on my helmet (not a helmet thread) I noticed tape on my seat post. Uh. ****. He. Moved. My Seat. Even worse, as I went to remove the tape it was below and stuck in the clamp. Anyone old enough to recall the short lived sitcom Herman's Head? All my people up there are running bumping into one another with sirens blaring. And thus we crash into the woe and misery of the warped mind. Now granted the posts have markings. AND I have reference photos

But the reality of the warped mind is that it can feel the difference in a measurement less than a millimeter. So I've now lost sleep. I have mystery body pain. I even toyed with (coupled with a busted race wheel) the idea of pulling the plug on the season. The mind circles around time and again to Why. Did. He. Move. The Seat (definitive article). Pain anguish agony ensue. How can I possibly win anything now?

For reference here's the post now

My wife is convinced they look close enough. So clearly my marriage is in trouble as well.

I'm 35 and also remember these things. Has to have been the same timeframe as Get a Life as they are quite associated in my memory.

Also, there's no way you can perceive a MM of difference, but knowing that it is different can cause a perception of change. My thoughts at least. I know my fat/skin thickness changes a mm or more with hydration. Also my old saddle flexes more and more over time...

You should feel better. I know a guy selling some 404 tubulars for like $800 if you want his contact!

I don't ever change mine on the scott foil, but I change the TT bike saddle like every ride. It feels better every time I change it for a bit, then I have to re-visit and see if I made things worse.

Speaking of fit, in my ever long search for more watts on the short spectrum (less than a minute). I'm considering moving my cleats forward. Right now its as back as far as it can go. Is there any power gain from it, and if there is are there any negative consequences?

there are many schools of thought, it depends, and you have to try it for yourself. cleats forward usually leads to needing a higher saddle a bit which, keeping your bars in the same place will very very slightly affect hip angle in seated positions.
