It's actually not any work for me. My father handles all of it. I just put in cash.

I've also had opportunities to provide hard money loans to flippers in Boston. The return is usually pretty good on those as well, but you need to have a lot of cash to put up at once. (I don't have a lot of cash, but I can pool it with others.)

An article just showed up in my news feed about about a cyclist killed in a hit & run in Ohio. The article appeared because it happened in the town where I went to college. The driver, who fled the scene but was later identified by witnesses, was a much liked professor of mine, now retired, 76 years old. Ugh.

Being an empty nester is great until scary stuff happens. My kid is locked down in his dorm room while the manhunt goes on outside.

Turns out two ended up dead, and the perp is still at large. The lockdown was lifted around midnight.
