First - ask your mom

Second - find out if there's a basement/bike room. A lot of buildings in the city do have them. If not ask the super if there's space in the basement - it's holiday season coming up which means tips. A little stretching of the rules means a few extra greenbacks in the envelope. If it's a rental building there might be an apt that may be empty and not ready to be shown, could keep it in there.

Third - buy a folding bike for here. I imagine it's going to cost some good money to ship it both ways - get something like a Downtube folding bike, throw on a different set of handlebars and use it to train on. If you're going to spend ~$100 for shipping and ~100 on storage you're almost there plus you'll have a bike in both places.
