Unfortunately, it was a new aluminum frame Allez. Worst riding bike I have ever been on. Every crack and pebble in the road was magnified and transmitted to my butt. Incredibly harsh ride. However, I agree about the older steel Allez. I have a 60cm model from the late 80's I picked up at a yard sale hanging in the garage until this spring when I can sell it on eBay. Terrific rides.
