Back in '97 I thought I would get modern and add a Specailized Allez to my Paramount. After one long ride in the rolling hills east of Plano I sold the Allez. It was horrible. Been on steel ever since.

Unfortunately, it was a new aluminum frame Allez. Worst riding bike I have ever been on. Every crack and pebble in the road was magnified and transmitted to my butt. Incredibly harsh ride. However, I agree about the older steel Allez. I have a 60cm model from the late 80's I picked up at a yard sale hanging in the garage until this spring when I can sell it on eBay. Terrific rides. BTW, I am a teacher so appreciate your quote from GBS.

Well its around 3 carbon,4 Ti,19 alum and 26 steel.Anyone suprised?Kind of a lot of people voice that they dont like steel because of this and that.Would that be from alum riders?Just asking. Why not more carbon and Ti,because of $ or just not sure of it yet?
