Less than 250

I had hoped to get in about 500, but just couldn't pull it off. Got sick. Bad back flared up, etc. I haven't ridden, really ridden, since 1990, for many, many reasons. Had knee surgery in 2000, and I really didn't think I would be able to ride at all, so last summer I replaced the rotted (no kidding!) tires on my road bike and got back in the saddle to ride with my kids, just spinning low gears to see what I could tolerate, taking it R-E-A-L easy (out of fear, I suppose). Most of the miles I put in were to get the bike fit just right, to lessen knee strain, etc. I also picked up a cheapo Trek MTB which I plan to convert to a commuter, so some miles were spent setting it up.
2004 should be better. No set goals yet, but I should break 250 just commuting and goofing off with the kids, maybe a century or two in the late fall.... With luck, I'll get my wife back into cycling this year.
