I have the
Pearl Izumi Barrier jacket and its great. If I'm doing a rec ride in the winter it is all I need over a summer jersey and armwarmers (an extra longsleeve jersey comes along just in case though). I've been caught out in the rain and stayed pretty dry. Its well constructed and looks nice. I got mine for 65 euros in Munich but its listed as 140USD on the website. I don't really see how it is all that different from the Gavia, but I tried on most of the Pearl Izumi winter jackets and decided on the barrier.
