I'm from Lancaster County, about 45 minutes from Hershey. I don't know how to compare it to other areas since I grew up here but there are quite a few riders. Some things I think you'll look forward too are a wide range of scenic riding condition from flat, to hilly to mountains that aren't that far away. There are also professional and amatuer races, and a variety of rides. On the downside there's plenty of bicycle hating rednecks.

Floyd Landis is also from the area if that's worth anything.
