I got a KMC 8-speed chain on my fixie and the chain rattle bothers me, especially if there is any dirt or sand on the chain links. I have heard of single-speed chains (SRAM PC-1 for example) that do not have play between the links so they run quieter, but I have only seen them in 1/8". Do they come in 3/32" width?
