I'm not often sick, but cycling is a great indicator of work-readiness.

One time I pushed myself out the door, but didn't make it 1/4 mile, I was doing okay when I could coast on a gentle downhill, but as soon as I had to turn a pedal over on level ground I knew I was whupped. I imagine my co-workers were glad I didn't show up.

At a slow time a couple of months ago I caught a cold. My co-workers encouraged me to take the whole week off. I did for 4 days. One day though, they shut off the water at my apartment to do repairs. So I hid in my cubicle.
