Everyone has their opinions on social groups. Some people hate country clubs, some love them; some people hate the Freemasons, some love them; some people hate fraternities and sororities, some love them. The fact is that my fraternity (and please understand I speak for it only, as I have no experience with the internal workings of others) is one of the biggest philanthropic social organizations on campus and in the United States. Since 1993, Lambda Chi Alpha has collected and donated more than 26 million pounds of food for the North American Food Drive. Annually, its brothers raise in excess of two million pounds.

Say what you will and think what you will; I know many individuals have had bad experiences with fraternity and sorority members, but let us not take the actions of an isolated sample as representative of the entire population.
