I am in the bay area, the one place that has never let me down is Pacific Felt and Mnfg. I believe that they can go up to 2 inches thick. If you go over to them or call them up with your problem(if you get one of the more relaxed folks) they will listen and most likely provide more than enough samples to get you going(if you request samples). Another good place to check out is Darcoid Rubber and Seal CO. I dont know how they are for felt but they have the best prices I have seen for Die cutting. If you want to ship stuff, try US Felt. they are on the web. the only bad thing about US Felt is that you have to know exactly what you want(thickness, quality) or you wont get any where.
An easy solution is simply to make your own though. That's what I've done.
