A nicer descent of the lower portion of Page Mill is:

R. Altamont(below Palo Alto Foothills Park), L. Taaffe, R. Elena, L. Robleda, R.Chapin, L. Burke, R. Foothill.

I also might suggest Pierce to Highway 9 and cut off some of the Saratoga-Sunnyvale Rd. junk through Saratoga.

If I do Copperopolis, this might be a nice ride. Otherwise, I'd be inclined to add some more miles and continue north to Hwy 84, and return via Portola Valley.
