Sorry, I race both road and track and know plenty of the NYC fixie crew, and I hate to call BS with regard to anyone, but there's a BIG difference between sprinting at 31 mph and sprinting at 50 mph. 31 mph is an average beginner's road race sprint, even I can do that and I'm no sprinter; 50 mph is breaking the world record.

It's just not possible to do what VD's talking about unless he's doing it on rollers or drafting a truck; in neither case would it be at all appropriate to call what he's doing a sprint
