i remember about a month ago, someone said "jipped" meaning ripped off...they didn't know that it was a remark aimed at deriding gypsies (similar in usage to "jewed"). i don't believe that person edited the term out of their post, and then they went on to ask "what else could i have said?" they did appologize though...although i wouldn't have been offended if they hadn't. i was just pointing out that something they said could be percieved as offensive to someone at some point in time...even though i guess it's okay to poke fun at gypsies in our society, because you hear it all the time on TV... i KNOW i've heard the term "dink" used on tv a few times too...in fact, there was a saturday morning cartoon on in the late 80s/early 90s that was called "dink." ...had something to do with dinosaurs, and was eventually taken off the air and overshadowed by the more-popular "denver, the last dinosaur."

either way, i think your .sig is a little over the line. i highly doubt that haymme was aware of that particular meaning of the word. i wasn't. i don't think i'd appologize either. i'd probably just say "oh. well, i'll be mindful of that in the future. thankyou for pointing it out." or something to that effect.

isn't ****** just a term for someone who masturbates frequently? only repressed prudes get offended at that type of language...
