After reviewing the whole thread, it seems only one particular persons posts are missing for the most part. I guess this person must have decided that they didn't like what they said. So I guess the moderators didn't do it.

I thought bass players had ignorant bliss...or do they just feel slighted?

The best part of my day was when I finished reading this thread and realized that this is the best thing I have read in a long time. Complete train wreck.

Maybe it's a forest/trees thing. Former bass player, here. Since retired. And yes, as a class we are slighted AND underappreciated. Nobody sees the true genius of the three-chord/4-4/E-A-strings only/indie-pop bass player. Pity.
