Oh yea, it's the best. There's never the typical arguments about buying new gear. The only problem is that the big purchases usually happen in pairs, so it does get rather expensive.

We've been riding together ever since we met. We started on MTB's, about 9 years ago. I was more into the riding then she was, but she wanted to join me. I took her out on the trails and she loved it and quickly got on the bike upgrade parade. After about 6 years of MTB'n together, which include a number bike, riding trails all over Southern Ontario, a honeymoon in Asheville and Southeast Tennessee, she came up with the idea of getting road bikes. That's when we bought our original Roubaix's. We both thought we'd be mixing in the road with the MTB'n, but we quickly gravitated to road. We had started running into a problem with the MTB's. I was a bit more technically proficient then her and she was easily rattled on the trails. So this was causing a lot of disparity between our riding, meaning a lot of waiting at turns. On the road, however it was smooth sailing and we were basically at the same level. We once again were having a great time riding together. We'd challenge each other and push each other to go faster. She is definitely the stronger of the two when it comes to the flats, but I tend to take her on the hills.

We're looking forward to another season of riding together and can't wait to try out the new bikes. We're heading to Georgia in the middle of May to do some riding and join in on the Up The Creek Without a Pedal century put on by the Coosa Valley Cycling Club. Hopefully we'll get a good solid 3 weeks to work out the fit on the bikes.
