The new bikes!!
I know I've mentioned in a number of threads that I got an 07 Roubaix Expert as a 40th birthday gift from my wife and that she bought herself one too. Well we finally got done putting the computers on and adding the new wheels. We had been debating for the last little while on what to do about the wheels, either keep the stock Ultegra wheels or switch them out to the Mavic Elite wheels. We'd been riding the Elites on our other Roubaix's and were really happy with them so we decided to switch. It also doesn't hurt that we personally prefer the look of the Mavic wheels.
Here's some pics of the bikes. Sorry about the lighting, but no way I was going outside. It's a whopping 0C and there's been snow flurries all day...
The happy couple...
My wife's Roubaix...
And Now mine...
Now if only spring would hurry up and arrive...And stay!!

Noice. Now you guys need matching Quickstep kits and you're good to go.
Shame Ham-town weather isn't giving you the love

We've been riding together ever since we met. We started on MTB's, about 9 years ago. I was more into the riding then she was, but she wanted to join me. I took her out on the trails and she loved it and quickly got on the bike upgrade parade. After about 6 years of MTB'n together, which include a number bike, riding trails all over Southern Ontario, a honeymoon in Asheville and Southeast Tennessee, she came up with the idea of getting road bikes. That's when we bought our original Roubaix's. We both thought we'd be mixing in the road with the MTB'n, but we quickly gravitated to road. We had started running into a problem with the MTB's. I was a bit more technically proficient then her and she was easily rattled on the trails. So this was causing a lot of disparity between our riding, meaning a lot of waiting at turns. On the road, however it was smooth sailing and we were basically at the same level. We once again were having a great time riding together. We'd challenge each other and push each other to go faster. She is definitely the stronger of the two when it comes to the flats, but I tend to take her on the hills.
We're looking forward to another season of riding together and can't wait to try out the new bikes. We're heading to Georgia in the middle of May to do some riding and join in on the Up The Creek Without a Pedal century put on by the Coosa Valley Cycling Club. Hopefully we'll get a good solid 3 weeks to work out the fit on the bikes.
