I actually agree with you, but keep in mind I didn't take the pics. The guy who took them is a trials rider and this is his first road bike...he'd just like to know what it is and I figured posting the pics over here might get him some help with the ID.
Oh I forgot to say: I never intended to aim that rant at you, and it's by NO means a criticism, your OP just brought up a recurring "issue" and I let this be the springboard for a suggestion. We at the C&V forum love to try to solve these mysteries, I know I sure do...I'm just trying to help others help us help them...which helps us all.
