Indeed.

A van & trailer pulled out in front of me about 10 years ago. I went over the bars & felt really shaken. The driver just accelerated away, & when I got up, he was too far away to do anything. My left arm started to throb & get more painful, but I thought it just swollen. A hospital visit showed my arm was broken. It healed of course, & seems ok these days.

I had no camera then, but I carry one most of the time now.

I too am in the CTC, for several years. If you're in the UK it's worth the sub' I think, if only for the insurance & help it provides. Recently they helped someone badly treated after an incident, for riding on the road when there was a cycle path available..

Cyclists really need some organisation to help in bad situations, as we're obviously more vulnerable than other road users, yet there's not much concern from the authorities for our welfare.

The biz. card idea's a good one.

@BBP, thankfully, sounds like you'll be ok. I hope it doesn't put you off riding!
