Hey folks. my girlfriends bike just came in the mail! we ebayed it. other than a few scratches previously unmentioned to us before bidding and two flat tires, it is a sweet bike! 05 womens stumpjumper. In addition to the before mentioned blemishes, the bikes headset is loose! I do not know if it is improperly assembled or if it's worn out. the ebay ad said that the bike was only riden five times but who knows if that's true or not. anyways, i'm thinking it is assembled improperly. problem is i am unable to fix it. there is a gap between the pressed frame races and the top of of the headset (the part right below the spacers). inbetween the top piece of the headset and the pressed frame races is a small metal piece. i cannot seem to get the top piece of the headset to fit snugly with this. any help? thanks a lot and happy triails!
