I have looked at the XR and I would avoid the front disk they use. On the one here the disk drags real bad.

If you can wait a little longer and save another $100.00 - $150.00 you could go to an LBS (local bike shop) and purchase a entry level bike that will fit you better and be of better quality. I would look at the Specialized Hardrock line. You can find entry level Hardrocks for around $300.00. It really is worth the difference in price.
