It doesn't add a kilo - I think the weight difference was around 8-10 oz. (steel) . My ti S&S frame was I think 3.5 pounds naked, so no way it would have been sub kilo frame without the couplers.

Interesting note on the sales of BAB. Nice idea that was made too expensive. I think there's still a lot of people out there that want to get a $400ish frame that can separate. The 2007 Dahon Cadenza looks interesting for that.
