As an interesting fact, at the shop I work at we are told to run front brake cables to the inside of the fork leg, and zip tie the cable to the fork bridge and if the cable is sticking out too much, another zip tie can be used to ziptie the cable to the leg of the fork. The idea is to prevent snagging of the cable on brush you ride by on the trail.
