Less things to monkey with for my ride to and from. My commute is flat enough that I can power up the couple hills on my way and maintain a pretty good speed the entire route. I've been dealing with the rain recently and besides the occasional re-lube I haven't had to do anything to my bike. Fixed commuting is where it's at, and it'll wake you up as quick as coffee.
