Too bad Bitter End bit experienced a bitter end. They made some really good beer and in more unique styles than almost any other brewer on the face of the earth ever to exist, ever. Middle Aged monks or ancient Egyptians had nothing on the Bitter End.

Nowadays, Shiner Bock's color is said to come from caramel coloring instead of roasted malts. That's a dang shame, right there.

Austin has its own real brewers and plenty of comfortable places to enjoy their handiwork. You don't even need to cross into Texas for that. Unless of course, you're headed on down to Driftwood for some barbecue and some BYOB.
