i probably rode just about 34 miles today, fixed, platformed, and brakeless, with a 48x16 and I definitely was never scared or out of control. though i must say I can totally see how using clips/straps can be helpful and will probably purchase some soon. I have been using a brake as long as I have ridden fixed and just took it off recently to see how well I could perform without it. again, not necessary but if i were in a pickle boy oh boy would i like to have that brake.
anyway, to say that riding fixed with platforms is completely nonsensical is simply your opinion, I happen to get along just fine along with big piles of other people.
