This is my new bike decision after 13 years on a Specialized Epic (Allez on a 1st gen butted carbon frame) - Specialized Roubaix or Cannondale Synapse Carbon. OK OK I know go with the one that fits right and ignore everything else, but here are my issues:
- Specialized frame "felt" better to me, but the fit was a bit wonky [my knees hit the handlebars when i stood up]. Is that a simple "get a longer stem" or something bigger? Also the component sets suck (I want Ultegra which isn't really offered in Roubaix).
- Cannondale - i was ready to buy until I rode the Roubaix. Sweet ride, great components (Ultegra w/ Duraace on rear derailleur). I still want this bike but now I wonder if I should try to make the Spec work.
Any insight is welcome.
