so yeah, i just want something that looks sort of plain, hence the filet brazing. I want something with geometry slightly tighter than my pista. it doesnt seem like it should be so much to ask for.
Have you seen the trademark Cannondale weld? They TIG (or MIG, I don't know the difference) aluminum together like any other AL frame manufacturer today, but they sand down the weld by hand so the transitions look really smooth. More material is used in welding than brazing, so the "radius" between the tubes is larger, but it still looks plain.
They produce the "Capo" fixed gear bike, which I've been recommending to everyone because I got it.. like most entry-levels, the componentry is junk, but the frameset is quite nice and lightweight, replete with carbon fork.
Might not be what you're looking for, but it's worth a look.
