Perhaps being a stuck up know-it-all is a virtue in overly snobbish sections of the former Empire, but to me it just shows a lack of respect for long established forum ettiqutte and is to be ridiculed at every opportunity.

If a newcomer arrives and starts dragging out multiple (Yeah Nigel, this wasn't the only one.) six year old threads and then proceeds to give others (as in not me) the "I'll do as I like" treatment when they "politely" inform him of his transgression the time for civility passes rather quickly. We have a clearly labeled Search Function at the header of every page here and every post has a date, any board such as this will direct you to search for the most recently posted thread (especially in topics like this that get repeated weekly) therefore making the exhumation of long dead threads completely unwarranted and subject to some form of backlash. This isn't the Royal High Tea after all, is it? Try being a bit more Liverpool and Birmingham instead of "upon Tyne". Canny?
Although I do have to admit that I'm a bit envious of you being so close to Hadrian's Wall
