I have dura-ace with 15000 miles and one rebuild. still buttery smooth. Shimano makes the best bearings in the business, hands down. If you look around, you should be able to find a build of dura ace hubs and open pro rims for ~300ish that'll weigh around 1600-1700 grams and be pretty damn bombproof yet repairable.
