Probably variable on the minor details over time, but, for, say, 1975:

Varsity: Steel bars. Side pull brakes. Nutted axles. Forged Ashtabula fork. $129.95.

Conti:Alloy Randonneur handlebars. Center pull brakes. Quick release hubs. Painted tubular fork. $144.95.
