Get ready for a long process. I was hit last year and the insurance company initially told me they were going to settle and give me money. I thought that was it. Then they sent paperwork and it ended up taking about 6 months to settle. The insurance company was aweful to deal with. The changed adjusters all of the time and they really didn't seem like they wanted to pay. I eventually got a couple grand out of them but it was a frustraing process. Good luck.
