Cellphones have cameras for 2 reasons. First of all the basic concept of a phone hasn't really been improved upon since they made them small enough to fit in your pocket, but they want to sell you a new one every couple of years, so they need to invent reasons for you to buy one, they add features that add nothing to the functionality of making a phonecall, but seem spiffy. THEN they charge you to send the pictures you took to yourself and to your friends. Now they have you buying 2 things you didn't even know you needed.

I suppose the light on the key might be sorta like that if they figured out a way to bill your credit card a penny every time you pushed the button, but I think it's really just a nifty thing to be able to shed a little light on a keyhole from time to time.
