I rarely announce myself as I pass someone. I certainly don't buzz them but if they look over I'll say goodmorning or goodafternoon but that's usually about the extent of it. I'm a spandex clad roadie BTW and I live near a rather large Marine base and have ridden through the base many times on my road bike. Never have I encountered such hostility from a Marine. You give Marines a bad name.
The stupid stunt was him flying by me, out of control and nearly colliding with me because I was actually following the rules of the road. These things happen, but he sould have said something to apologize. We both could have been seriously hurt and he was indifferent which is what made me angry.

All, I did was tell him to let people know when he's passing them... SHEESH! He should have said something for riding so carelessly and almost hurting another rider.
