This is absolutely correct. I found one or two options for building up at 'junior size' performance road bike wheel but as for keeping this within my budget and getting it on the road as soon as possible, I stayed with the front wheel that came with it. Also, finding the right rim to match my superbe pro hub would be an even bigger challenge and it would be a shame to 'downgrade' to a budget level front hub. Anyway, I'm considering just running that stopflat stuff (similar to slime) to avoid problems with the sewup and eventually switching to an armadillo elite for the rear.
