Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

This is absolutely correct. I found one or two options for building up at 'junior size' performance road bike wheel but as for keeping this within my budget and getting it on the road as soon as possible, I stayed with the front wheel that came with it. Also, finding the right rim to match my superbe pro hub would be an even bigger challenge and it would be a shame to 'downgrade' to a budget level front hub. Anyway, I'm considering just running that stopflat stuff (similar to slime) to avoid problems with the sewup and eventually switching to an armadillo elite for the rear.

I like it. Very clean and no stickers. I am not the bigest fan of the riser stem... but whatever works for you ... you have to ride it.

Nice work.

If I had that frame I would put a 24" BMX Mag clincher wheel in front. Normally you never get the chance to use any of those awesome mags...
