Maybe the Peugeot thought that there was some sort of niche left after the Japanese had all but abandoned the 'Aero' marketing strategy with what appears to be a half-assed attempt.
Oh so wrong in so many ways. Aside from the PX10 this model has kept its value better than any other Peugeot. Examples in mint condition have sold for over $650 while examples that have been left in the garage for 25 years have sold for $250.
It wasnt about a 'niche'. It was about making an anniversary model unique and affordable to all. You know how much I wanted a red anniversary Schwinn with the gold fork? It was way out of my price range!!
AFAIK this is the first Peugeot to have Japanese components!!!
RK..it may be heavy but remember this was relatively entry lever racer at an entry level price. For 1982 24.9 lbs aint too bad!!! In '82 a PXN10 with butted Reynolds tubing was 22.7 a PKN10 with reynolds butted was 24.3. Lookning at it from that perspective it was only .6lbs heavier!!!
