if it fits then i say jump on it.
fwiw, i bought a used 2001 fuji track from a friend for $300 a couple weeks ago. it was in really great shape and came with a few minor upgrades (headset, handlebars, cog). i've been really happy with it so far (been riding it for about six weeks now) and the ketchup and mustard paint job melts my face. call me a sucker if you like.
